This stunning pair antique of French marquetry Louis XV style bombe chest nightstands are exquisitely hand-crafted, featuring the graceful curves and richly decorated gilt bronze ormolu mounts lightly refreshed with gold gilding wax. Stunning book-matched parquetry-work, exquisite floral marquetry, string banding, and delicate cross-banded inlays that include various species of precious woods (mahogany, rosewood, satinwood, and fruitwood). The shapely bombe-form (bombay) case fitted with three high-quality solid wooden drawers with finished interior, gently undulating scalloped apron, rising elegantly on slender cabriole legs, surmounted with the timeless classic white marble slab top with contoured molded edge and serpentine shaped front. Note: The marble slab is not attached/is removable. The petite proportions of the tables lend them to a variety of uses, including as night stands, chair side tables, sofa end tables, diminutive bedroom chest of drawers commodes, small accent tables or lamp stands for any room in your home. Strong, sturdy, stable, and structurally sound, with minimal wear consistent with age.
